Wasserversorgung und Privatisierung

Wasser ist Leben. Schlicht und ergreifend. In den vergangenen Jahren wurde in vielen Ländern die Aufgabe der Wasserversorgung bzw. des Wassermanagements an private, weltweit agierende Konzerne, übertragen. Dies soll zukünftig im Rahmen des GATS-Abkommen (Abkommen über Handel und Dienstleistungen) gesetzlich festgelegt werden. Insbesondere die Länder des Südens sollen ihre Märkte für Dienstleistungen, wozu auch Wasser- und Energieversorgung, Bildung und Gesundheit gezählt werden, öffnen, um großen Konzernen Zugang zu den dortigen Märkten zu verschaffen. Ob dies dazu beiträgt, die Grundversorgung aller Menschen mit den lebensnotwendigen "Gütern" zu sichern, ist mehr als fraglich. KOSA unterstützt die Aktion Schutzdeich gegen Wasserprivatisierung
